Nike Pro Hijab masuk daftar penemuan terbaik

It's tough to play sports in a hijab. If the material is too heavy, it causes excess sweating. If it's too light, it might fall off during competition. And if it's fastened in the wrong way, "you can feel like you're going to choke," says @manirostom, an Egyptian runner based in the United Arab Emirates and the founder of the "Surviving Hijab" Facebook group, which has nearly half a million members. Nike's Pro Hijab—which was put into development after executives met with UAE weight lifter @amna.s.alhaddad in 2016—aims to shift that status quo. Unlike a traditional hijab, the Pro—one of TIME's 25 Best Inventions of 2017—is made with light, breathable fabric that wicks moisture; athletes who have used it report that it helps manage sweat. But for women like Rostom, who was one of the Pro's early testers, there's symbolic weight to Nike's investment, as well. "I'm athletic, I'm outspoken, I'm empowered by a big company," she says. "I'm representing what a Muslim woman can be." See the full list on TIME.com. Photograph by @sebastianmader for TIME

✨الحمدلله ✨ ✨ Three years ago I founded a Facebook group called Surviving Hijab to support women in Hijab and also to protect me from taking OFF my Hijab. Also three years ago, exactly this month, November 2014, I wrote an email to Nike addressing @nikecoachtom asking why aren’t Muslim, Hijabi Athletes being featured in campaigns. ✨ ✨ ✨ Theee years later, we are talking a #hijab that is empowering Muslim Athletes and the coolest feature on @time magazine. ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨ Its amazing how when I was 21, struggling with the whole idea of embracing hijab, desperately – seeking any iconic , hijabi figure to look up to or try to be like, but then years later, we have THIS. Do you get why this is such a big deal???How this will empower nations and the younger generations? ✨ ✨ ✨ Remember you don’t change the world by accepting the Status Quo. You change it by going against the current and challenging it. Thank you team Nike for having my back. Thank you @time for the feature. ✨ ✨ ✨ Repost @time (@get_repost) ・・・ It's tough to play sports in a hijab. If the material is too heavy, it causes excess sweating.
